CI-710s SpectraVue Leaf Spectrometer

The CI-710s SpectraVue Leaf Spectrometer is an advanced tool for rapid, non-destructive assessment of plant stress. By using leaf spectroscopy, it enables precise monitoring of plant health, including nutrient deficiencies, pigment composition, and overall physiological condition—all without damaging the leaves.

SpectraVue performs three types of spectroscopic measurements on leaf samples:

  • Transmittance (T): Measures the amount of light passing through the leaf, displayed as a transmittance spectrum.
  • Absorbance (A): Indicates how much light is absorbed by the leaf, proportional to the concentration of compounds present (Beer-Lambert law).
  • Reflectance (R): Captures the fraction of light reflected from the leaf surface, also allowing measurement of surface substance absorbance in reflective or opaque samples.

These spectra are essential for analyzing chemical composition, photosynthesis efficiency, leaf color, and other physiological properties, providing researchers with accurate, field-ready insights.

Key Advantages:

  • Crop Optimization: Evaluate environmental effects on nutrients and pigments; apply chemometric modeling to optimize plant health and yield.
  • Forest Productivity & Sustainability: Monitor spectral responses to stressors; gain insights into forest health and long-term management strategies.
Environmental Research: Perform non-destructive assays of physiological responses to diverse environmental conditions.
